Pune: Devastating flood across Kerala once again shows that there are many generous helping hands in and outside our state. The flood relief materials collection, which was initiated by papal seminary and De Nobili College witnessed the generosity of people in and around Pune and Mumbai.

Three trucks of essential materials have been transported to kerala since yesterday. It contains food materials, clothing, medicines, stationery, toilet articles etc.

The desire of rectors, procurators, staff and students of both houses to extend their helping hands in this tragic situation to those who are unreachable resulted in the thought of collecting essential materials to the most affected regions. Private donors of Pune and Mumbai provided these materials; brothers from Papal seminary also collected materials by visiting educational institutions, malls, IT industries and so on.

Talking to Vox Nta. Fr. Vincent Crasta, the procurator of Papal seminary said, “Primarily it is human to reach out to those who are in need. Secondly, it is also part of the formation, which is termed as “formation in mission.” Thirdly, it is a learning process to deal with natural disaster management system.”
The materials were transported to Paravur and Aluva, five seminarians are along with the trucks departed. We hope that the materials will be reached to the people latest by Saturday. Another load of materials will be leaving latest by Sunday morning.
